GPS staff attendance with selfie clock-in
BOC's GPS attendance lets each team member clock in and out from My HR with a selfie and their location, in the BOC app for iPhone and Android or in a phone browser, and accepts the punch only inside the radius you set around the branch. Managers read today's Attendance log, see each person's last shared location on a map, and fix a missed punch with a correction and a reason. The same selfie-and-location face check answers spot checks, and every punch feeds lateness, early leave, and overtime.
What it does
Attendance is part of HR in BOC. In Business Setup, under Config, you turn on Enable HR and Clock in and clock out. Each team member then opens My HR, in the BOC app or on the web from their phone, taps Clock in, takes a selfie with the front camera, and shares their location. BOC checks that the phone is inside the branch geofence and that the location reading is precise enough, then answers Clocked in. Clock out works the same way at the end of the day. Every punch uses a one-time check that expires after three minutes. While someone is clocked in, a second Clock in shows You are already clocked in since 08:40. Clock out first. Every clock-in is paired with its own clock-out.
On the web, the Attendance tab opens on today's Attendance log: each employee, their clock-in time, their clock-out time, and a location status of At the branch or Outside the branch, worked out from the last location the person shared against the branch circle. The Locations tab shows a map card for each person, pinned where they last shared their location during duty hours, with the date and time. Staff share it with Share my location in My HR while they are on shift or clocked in. Each employee's HR file also has an Attendance section with their recent punches, for managers with the View Attendance permission.
Attendance feeds the rest of HR. The Duty tab tells BOC when each person is expected, including shifts that run past midnight, and Pay rules turn lateness, early leave, and overtime into amounts. Each accepted punch recalculates that day for the employee and sends them a notice that attendance was recorded, and HR home counts who is On duty today and the day's Late arrivals.
Radius presets and a correction with a reason
You set the geofence once per branch on the Pay rules tab. Choose Geofence as the kind and press Use branch location, so the circle is centred on the location saved for that branch. Set Radius meters with the slider from 25 to 500 meters in steps of 25, or tap a preset: 50, 100, 200, or 400. Accuracy meters sets how precise the phone's reading must be, with presets of 10, 25, 50, and 100, and 50 as the starting value. Each branch keeps its own circle, so a clinic in one building can keep it tight and a club with a car park can widen it. Until a branch has its location and geofence saved, HR shows Save a geofence for this branch before employees can clock in.
When someone forgets to punch, a manager with the Correct Attendance permission fixes it on the Attendance tab. Search for the employee, choose Clock in or Clock out, set the Date and Time, and pick a reason: Forgot to clock in, Forgot to clock out, The clock did not save, Started on time, or Left early with permission, or write your own note of up to 180 characters. Press Save correction. The correction is saved in your name with its reason, the employee gets a notice that their attendance was corrected, and Past corrections lists that person's recent records.
A correction records the time and pays nothing by itself. BOC recalculates that day's lateness, early leave, and overtime from the corrected time, and any amount waits on the payroll screens, where it is approved and paid.
What staff and managers do on the phone
In the BOC app, My HR puts Clock in, Clock out, and Respond to check next to Late arrival, Early leave, Exit permission, Attendance correction, and Shift and leave balance. Clock in opens the front camera for the selfie, then reads the location. Outside the circle, BOC shows You are outside the branch geofence. With a vague reading, BOC asks for a more precise location. The selfie from an accepted clock-in or clock-out is kept in private storage with that punch, and the selfie from a refused attempt is deleted. An employee who spots a wrong time sends an Attendance correction request with the time to correct, the corrected time, and a reason, and a manager decides it from the Requests tab.
The same selfie and location answer a spot check: this is the face check. My HR also has Video for HR, where a team member records a short video of themselves or chooses one from the phone, an MP4 of up to 20 MB, and sends it to HR. The video is kept privately in their HR file, for them and the managers who handle HR requests.
Managers carry attendance in the same app. The HR area of the BOC app has Locations for the team map, Duty for shifts, Pay rules with the geofence, Attendance corrections to add a clock-in or clock-out with a reason, and Spot checks, so a missed punch can be fixed away from the desk.
How it works in BOC
- Switch on clock in. In Business Setup, open Config and turn on Enable HR and Clock in and clock out, so staff can clock in with a selfie and their location.
- Draw the geofence. On Pay rules, choose Geofence, press Use branch location, pick a radius and an accuracy, and save the pay rule.
- Give everyone a shift. On the Duty tab, set each person's hours so BOC knows when they are expected.
- Staff clock in on the phone. In My HR they tap Clock in, take a selfie, and share their location. BOC answers Clocked in when the phone is inside the circle.
- Review the day. Open Attendance for today's log, Locations for each person's last shared location on a map, and HR home for On duty today and Late arrivals.
- Correct with a reason. Choose the person, Clock in or Clock out, the date, the time, and a reason, then press Save correction.
Who it is for
Clinics Clinics see each doctor and assistant arrive at the right branch, with the time and the location status in one log.
Dental clinics Dental clinics know the chair team is in the building before the first patient, and fix a forgotten punch with a reason.
Dermatology and laser Laser clinics with early device sessions check who clocked in at the branch before the first booking of the day.
Beauty salons Salons with several branches give each branch its own radius, so every stylist clocks in at the right door.

Barbershops Barbershops get a selfie time clock on each barber's phone, with the punch checked against the shop's location.
Physiotherapy Physiotherapy practices compare clock-in times with each therapist's shift, and late starts show up on HR home.
Sports clubs Sports clubs track coaches and front-desk staff across the whole site with a radius that fits the club.

Questions
Does BOC have a GPS attendance app for staff?
Yes. Staff clock in and out from My HR in the BOC app for iPhone and Android, or on the web from a phone, with a selfie and their location. BOC accepts the punch when the phone is inside the radius set for the branch and shows it in the Attendance log.
How big can the geofence radius be?
Between 25 and 500 meters, in steps of 25. Presets of 50, 100, 200, and 400 meters are one tap away on the Pay rules tab, where you also set how precise the phone's location must be: 10, 25, 50, or 100 meters.
What happens if an employee clocks in from outside the branch?
BOC shows You are outside the branch geofence. and keeps the punch out of the log. The employee steps inside the radius and tries again, or a manager adds a correction with a reason.
Can a manager fix a missed clock-in?
Yes. On the Attendance tab, or in Attendance corrections in the BOC app, choose the employee, Clock in or Clock out, the date, the time, and a reason such as Forgot to clock in. The correction is saved in the manager's name, the employee is notified, and that day's lateness and overtime are recalculated.
Is the selfie kept?
The selfie from an accepted clock-in or clock-out is kept in private storage with that punch. The selfie from a refused attempt, and the selfie sent to answer a spot check, is deleted.
Can an employee clock in twice in a row?
Each clock-in waits for its clock-out. While someone is clocked in, a second Clock in shows You are already clocked in since 08:40. Clock out first. Every clock-in is paired with its own clock-out, so the log stays clean.
Does attendance connect to shifts and payroll?
Yes. The Duty tab sets when each person is expected, and Pay rules turn lateness, early leave, and overtime into amounts with grace minutes and a cap. Those amounts are approved and paid on the payroll screens.
